British rule in India 1757 me shuru hua, jab Battle of Plassey me British ki jeet ke baad British East India Company ek trading company se badhkar military aur political power ban gayi. The East India Company ne lagbhag 100 saal tak India par rule kiya, jab tak 1857 ke Indian Rebellion (jise Sepoy Mutiny bhi kehte hain) ke baad direct British rule, yaani British Raj, shuru nahi hua. Ye rebellion to daba diya gaya tha, lekin isi ne colonial rule ke khilaf desh bhar me narazgi ka silsila shuru kar diya.

India ka freedom movement kaafi had tak Indian National Congress (Congress Party) ke through organize hua, jo 1885 me bani thi. Independence struggle ka pehla bade level ka protest tha Swadeshi Movement, jo 1905 me Bengal ke partition ke against start hua. World War I (1914–18) ke dauran ye movement aur tez ho gaya, aur British-ruled India me logon ka gussa badhne laga, khaas kar jab Rowlatt Act (1919) jaise repressive laws aaye aur Jallianwala Bagh Massacre (1919) hua.

Independence Day celebrations will be led by PM Narendra Modi at Red Fort, Delhi, on Friday PM. Wahan wo National Flag ko unfurl karenge aur desh ko address denge. Gyanpath par jo View Cutter hoga, us par Operation Sindoor ka logo hoga, aur floral decorations bhi isi theme me honge. Invitation cards for Operation Sindoor ke logo ke saath Chenab Bridge ka watermark bhi hoga, jo ‘Naya Bharat’ ki pehchan ko dikhata hai.
